Peter, who Time Magazine says has a “swaggering good voice.”, has appeared in numerous off-Broadway and regional theater productions (Long Wharf, Syracuse Stage, etc.) and starred as Dirty Frank in the acclaimed ABC children’s TV show Jabberwocky. On National Public Radio’s The Spider’s Web he contributed many character voices to Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland and The Trumpet of the Swan. His commercial audio book narrations include Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant, Landscape Turned Red, Lost Discoveries, 1491, The Soul of Capitalism and The Americanization of Benjamin Franklin.

He has narrated over 400 books for the Library of Congress “Talking Books” program and won the 1997 Torgi Award from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind for his narration of Oliver W. Sachs An Anthropologist on Mars and the 2006 Alexander Scourby Award from American Foundation for the Blind for narrating Discourse on Free Will.
