The Professional Creative Workshop has Ceased Operations

Barbara Bleier


Barbara is an actor, writer and singer who has been seen in off and off-off Broadway productions. Recent roles include Ester in I Can Cry at the National Theatre of Romania; Karen Frick in Arthur Miller’s The Last Yankee: and Gertrude in a production of Hamlet, directed by George Bartenieff. She has performed in solo cabaret shows and reviews in New York, Chicago, and Galway, Ireland, and was a Cabaret Fellow at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. Her two person review with Austin Pendleton, Undecided, received enthusiastic reviews in New York and Chicago. Film work includes the role of Mrs. Loeb, in the cult classic, Swoon, and a leading role in the upcoming independent film, Cape May. Her solo show, Who’s Your Mama, which she wrote and performed, won a production in the 2008 Women at Work Festival at Stage Left, in New York City, and was directed by Austin Pendleton. It also received a production at H-B Studio. Barbara’s one-act play, The Last Hippie, was read by the Professional Creative Group at the Players this past summer, and she is currently working to make it a full-length play.
